At the recent Chamber of Commerce Business & Technology Expo, SteppingStones Recruitment Training & Development Ltd decided to donate a prize with a difference. Visitors to the SteppingStones booth were invited to win the opportunity to nominate a registered Cayman Islands Charity to which Steppingstones would donate CI$2000.
“The response to our prize draw was fantastic!” said Milly Serpell, Managing Director of Steppingstones. “Hundreds of people visited our booth over the 2 day event and when we told them about our prize they were keen to enter the free draw. Lots of people commented on what a good idea they thought it was to win the chance to give back to the local community and many people knew straight away which charity they would like to support.”
Clenia Hermogino, Head of Accounts at Cayman Net News, was delighted to hear that she had won. “When I was deciding which charity to donate the money to, I thought about all the work that the Red Cross does to help people in Cayman and other countries when natural disasters strike, like the recent hurricanes. I think they are a very worthwhile cause.”
“I was very pleased when I received a call from SteppingStones telling me about their prize draw and that the winner had nominated the Red Cross.” said Jondo Obi, Director of Cayman Islands Red Cross. “We always appreciate any and all donations to the Red Cross. We have so much work to do in our community and we rely on charitable donations to enable us to maintain our efforts.”
